May 31st, 2010 | by Kacie |
It’s a given to be overwhelmed with the planning and preparation of food in a baby shower party, making sure that guests and the mom-to-be enjoy the cuisine that we can easily overlook the party’s drinks.
Of course, the no-effort task of opening beer cans and the fun of mixing vodka and orange juice are definitely out of the question. Don’t make mom-to-be feel out of place! Still the same, the no-effort and fun preparation of the drinks for the shower party is possible by concocting a variety of refreshing punch.
Here are three baby shower recipes for tasty, colorful punch.
TROPICAL STRAWBERRY SLUSHIES
4 servings
- 2 cups frozen strawberries
- 1 cup orange juice
- 2 cups plain seltzer
- 4 tablespoons strawberry jam
- 2 cups ice cubes
Combine all the ingredients with the ice cubes in a blender and puree until there is smooth texture.
PARADISE MANGO LEMONADE
4 servings
- 2 cups sliced mangoes, pureed (fresh or frozen)
- 5 cups cold water
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
Dissolve the sugar in 1/2 cup of boiling water in saucepan, over low heat. Add the 5 cups of cold water and mix in the pureed mangoes. Add the lime juice. Serve with shaved or cubed ice.
7-UP ALMOND PUNCH
A whopping 16 servings
- 1 can frozen lemonade
- 1 can frozen orange juice
- 10 cups water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 (2 liter) bottle 7-Up or Sprite
Mix all ingredients together. Chill before serving.
Punch are the perfect complements to the party foods, especially this spring and come summer season. Outdoor baby shower parties will also benefit from the servings of refreshing punch drinks.
A few reminders for serving punch as one of your baby shower recipes:
- Ice dilutes the punch’s perfection, so always add ice before serving.
- When you use sparkling or carbonated beverages, such as the case with the 7-Up Almond Punch, always mix them with the punch well chilled.
