Baby Shower Games – Getting to Know You

A great game to play, especially in a baby shower party where most guests do not know each other is the “Getting to Know You” game. Tell your guests in advance to think of something about themselves that not many people know of or something that they have not shared yet with anyone.

Here is what you need for the baby shower game (very easy!):

- Papers (2 pieces for each guest)
- Pencils or Pens

Instruct the guests to write down something about themselves on a piece of paper. After the guests have finished, gather the papers and number them.

Ask the mom - your guest of honor – to read what is written on all the papers while the guests write down on the other paper who they think each one is about. Perception, intuition, and good guessing are the keys to success (and to the prize!)for this baby shower game. The fun comes from the wacky guesses and even the mistakes the guests make.

Funny things I’ve heard were “I was a bald baby. I didn’t grow some hair until I was three!” and “I dropped my cellphone in the toilet but was too embarrassed to explain why, so I just said I misplaced it.”  Uh-oh…prepare for a lot of teasing, guffaws, and more follow-up questions to say more! More! More!

Some remarkable revelations were ones like “I married my husband, divorced him, and married him again” and “I’m actually a smoker contrary to what people think that I never touch cigarette. But when I’m too stressed out, I hide in the bathroom or the fire exit and smoke a stick. Tic Tacs does the trick.”

Sometimes, intrigues can perk anyone’s adrenaline up. Admit it, knowing other’s “secrets” can make your day. This baby shower game will put everyone on their toes. Don’t worry about anyone getting bored. In fact, be ready for lots of sharing, asking, and teasing. Allotting an hour of playing “Getting to Know You” in the program is pretty much safe to feed everyone’s appetite for some interesting information.

The guest with the most right answers wins the “Getting to Know You” game.
