This is an inexpensive and easy baby shower favor you can make yourself. And it tastes great as well! Come on, who doesn’t like Rice Krispie? It’s like the national food of every American household! Young or old, wives or hubbies, preggy or not, everyone will enjoy these baby shower favors.
Materials:
- Small, pre-packed Rice Krispie (approximately 2×2 ½ inches)
- White chocolate candy-coating discs
- White lollipop sticks (about 4 inches)
- Medium-sized (4×6 inches) clear party favor bags or treat bags
- ¼ -inches width white ribbon
- Cake decorations that reflect the theme or something that is the mom-to-be’s favorite. Examples are yellow duck, cartoon character, novelty item, and flowers.
- Wax paper
- Double boiler
- Food coloring: blue or green for a baby boy on the way and pink or red for a baby girl
The quantities of items will depend on how many baby shower favors you need to make.
Instructions:
1. Melt candy discs in double boiler and unwrap the Rice Krispie pack. Stick a lollipop stick into the middle of one of the Rice Krispie’s shorter sides.
2. Add some food coloring to melted candy discs depending on how dark or light you want them to look.
3. With a spatula, hold the Rice Krispie treat over boiler and quickly frost all of its sides. Be careful though. If it’s too long over the boiler, the treat may get soft and come off the stick.
4. Place the coated Rice Krispie on wax paper. Gently press the cake décor in the middle.
5. Let Rice Krispie treat to cool and set.
6. When completely set, put the Rice Krispie baby shower favors in the bags and tie with the ribbon at the base of the treat around the lollipop stick.
7. Polish off by attaching a small mini thank you card.
