Baby Shower Recipes - Four Layer Dessert
September 11th, 2009 | by Kacie |
My grandmother shared this recipe with me over many years of childhood. She called it her, "Four Layer Dessert". After serving it to her 40 grandchildren after many requests, she has treated us to the recipe. I thought why not share . . . so here it is.
Serves: 6
Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1 pkg. of cream cheese 8 oz.
- 1 cup cool whip
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 pkg. of butterscotch instant pudding 3 oz. (you may use any flavor pudding you wish)
- 3 cups milk
- Mix flour, butter, and nuts. Press mixture into bottom of 9 x 13 pan and bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.
- Mix cream cheese, cool whip, and powdered sugar together and spread on top of the crust.
- Make instant pudding according to package directions on place and top of second layer.
- Top pudding mixture with remaining cool whip, then garnish with chopped pecans and/or berries.
- Chill before serving.
