Baby Shower Recipe - Caprese Salad

July 16th, 2009 | by Kacie |

We entertain at our beach home about twice a week.  This recipe is always a party favorite . . . everyone comes back for seconds.  It’s so quick and easy too!

Serves: 10

Here is what you need:

  • 5 large tomatoes (Go Big . . . no plum tomatoes)
  • 3 packages of Mozzarella (normally 8 oz.)
  • 5 tablespoons of Olive Oil
  • 5 tablespoons of Balsamic
  • 5 tablespoons of Balsamic Glaze
  • Basil
  • Salt

This recipe will take approximately 15 minutes . . . and 3 minutes to plate and serve.  You may want to prepare this about 1/2 hour before guests arrive.

  1. Rinse and slice your tomatoes . . . don’t be shy . . . make the slices nice and thick.
  2. Slice your mozzarella.
  3. Place your tomatoes and mozzarella on a decorative platter rotating them (tomato, mozzarella, tomato, mozzarella).
  4. Drizzle Olive Oil over entire platter.
  5. Drizzle Balsamic over entire platter.
  6. Rough chop the basil and sprinkle over top.
  7. Sprinkle with salt.
  8. Apply the Balsamic Glaze lightly in a criss-cross design . . . adds wonderful flavor and makes it look pretty too!

Serve and enjoy!
