Baby Shower Recipe - About to Hatch

This baby shower recipe is quick and easy, no baking required, and colorful too! It goes perfectly with our baby shower theme “About to Hatch”, where adorable, little chicks are popping out of a white egg shell.

Serves about 16

4 tablespoons butter
4 cups (10 ounces) marshmallows
5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
Multi-colored, or speckled jelly beans
Peeps, marshmellow chicks available at Easter time (optional)

STEP 1: Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until melted. Remove from heat, add Rice Krispies and mix well.

STEP 2: Shape mixture into 16 3-inch nests. Chill thoroughly.

STEP 3: Fill cooled nests with jelly beans.

If peeps (marshmallow chicks are available) set them in the nest by using peanut butter or marshmallow cream on bottom of chick to attach chick to nest and place jelly beans around.

Optional: Display your nest on plastic Easter grass or basket filler to embellish your tasty treat.

Fun Tip: Use all pink or all blue jelly beans to celebrate a girl or boy. A pink or blue peep would be a nice addition as well.
