CONSIDER ALL PARTIES INVITED!!!

Try to seat guests according to their relationships with each other.

You may invite a long time friend of the expectant mom to relay her story about the father-to-be to his mom or grandmother that could turn sour fast!!! Stories that may be absolutely hilarious to the mommy-to-be and her girlfriends can sometimes be embarassing to the mother-in-law and make her angry.

You may have never considered that this is the first time the new grandparents have gotten together at a social event. Beware there may be some competitive grandma tension in the room. If someone spiked the punch there could be an all out cat fight. Good entertainment vs. uncomfortable situation . . . memorable???

Also, realize that everyone may not like each other in the first place, and one spark could create a firestorm.

Remind girlfriends it’s best to stay polite and remember what their mother taught them, “If you can’t think of anything nice to day don’t say anything at all”.

Keep all parties comfortable with who they know. In introduce guests to new people that you think may interest them. Have entertainment planned and refreshments ready.

Case in point . . . “Meet the Focker’s” . . . may be a Hollywood movie, but it could become your reality show.

If you have a baby shower disaster share it with us!!!!
