Baby Shower Recipes - Football Cookies

Perfect for our football themed baby shower. So fun for the co-ed baby shower! Bring in the new little boy with a touchdown!

 

Do you have an amazing cookie that you love baking? Chocolate chip? Peanut butter? Sugar cookies? Add a little colored icing and you will have football helmets.

 

Need:

• Cookies (your favorite)
• Colored icing (of your choice, maybe from your favorite football team.
• White icing
• Red string licorice
• Skittles
• Miniature M&Ms

Step 1: Bake your cookies to the directions on your package, or your specifications. Allow to cool well.

 

Step 2: Take half of your cookies and cut a small square on the edge. (This is where the face mask will be). Cut approximately 1 inch up, 1 inch over, and 1 inch down.

 

Step 3: Take your uncut cookie and spread white icing on the entire cookie.

 

Step 4: Lay your cookie with the square cut out on top. Spread your colored icing on top of the cut cookie.

 

Step 5: Pull apart your licorice so you have small stingy pieces. Cut your licorice in half. Take the now two small pieces over the cut area of your cookie. This creates the face mask.

 

Step 6: Use skittles on each side of the licorice. Put the lettering face down.

 

Step 7: Place two miniature M&M’s (two green or two blue) as the eyes in the white icing. Leave the lettering up.

 

Tip: You want to make each cookie one at a time so the icing stays soft and you can embed your candies.

 

Extras: If you want to get black icing you can pipe thin lettering or numbers on the top of each cookie.
